1. Brief history of development

Basic sciences faculty is a specialized faculty of Vocational College of Agricultural Mechanics (VCAM).

Along with the development of the college, after a period of establishment, the number of students directly managed by the faculty has increased annually; also, organization structure as well as staffs in the faculty has developed remarkably.

Organizational structure of the faculty has currently consisted of 03 groups with 27 staffs and teachers responsible for managing and teaching about 50 classes equal to approximately 1500 students at vocational – cultural intermediate branch every year.

2.  Function and mission

Taking responsibility for cultural array of cultural – vocational intermediate sector, including:

- Managing students of cultural – vocational intermediate sector.

- Managing  training program of continuation high school branch.

- Making plans and teaching cultural subjects for students of Cultural – vocational intermediate sector

- Participating in building program and teaching Maths, Physics for vocational branch.

- Conducting teaching and learning plan and allocated extracurricular activities of semester, school year or course.

- Compiling programs, textbooks, learning materials when being allocated. Doing researches on renewing learning contents, improving teaching method to enhance training quality.

- Organizing activities which enhance qualification of teachers in the faculty such as: symposium, teaching festival, class observation, testing and evaluating teaching quality of teachers per semester or per school year.

3. Achievements

* Collective achievements:

          - From 2008 to present: being continuously given signification namely, high distinction labor group.

          - Being given certificates of merit by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2007, 2008, 2010.

          - Being given certificates of merit by Chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Committee in 2012.

* Achievements of teachers: 01 teacher won the 1^st prize at teaching festival of Vinh Phuc province.

          * Achievements of students: From 2012 to present: 95 students won high prizes in excellent student contests at provincial level.
