According to UN ESCAP in 2015, 65% South Asia region population is under the age of 35. These 400 million youth, face many challenges during their transition into adulthood. They have to cope with high youth unemployment and youth illiteracy rates. The region is subject to both human-made emergencies and natural disasters, leading to the breakdown of health, education, and protection systems. Finding a job in South Asian countries is a major challenge for many young people. Fostering youth all-around-skills and ensuring their full participation, both in solving global challenges and local ones, is critical to the development and prosperity of the region.
